The "Gelişim Education, Culture, Health and Social Services Foundation" initiated the establishment of a vocational school under the name 'Istanbul Gelişim Vocational School' in 2008. With the approval of the Ministry of National Education and the Council of Ministers, the vocational school was officially established on June 14, 2008, and began its educational journey. For national and international students, the university offers education opportunities through 6 faculties, 2 schools, 2 vocational schools, 77 undergraduate programs, 61 associate degree programs in regular education, 34 associate degree programs in evening education, and within the Graduate Education Institute, 39 thesis and 38 non-thesis graduate programs, and 9 doctoral programs. On February 17, 2011, under Law No. 6114, Istanbul Gelişim University was established with the aim of becoming a "world university," and by the 2023-2024 academic year, it had grown to include 6 faculties, a Graduate Education Institute, 2 schools, and 2 vocational schools.
