If you are coming from a country where a visa is required, you should apply for a Student Visa by contacting the nearest Turkish Consulate in your country as soon as you receive your acceptance letter. The process can take approximately 15 to 45 days. You must apply for a residence permit within 30 days of your arrival.

Yes. You can apply with a certified transcript from the university you are enrolled in and the necessary documents in accordance with the conditions of the relevant university. Each university has a different application deadline. Applications to Turkish state universities are opened for a certain period of time and registrations are made on the specified dates. Yes. After completing the preparation process for programs in Turkish, you must have a C1 level language certificate (not required from those who completed their 4-year high school education in Turkey). Erasmus exchange students and students whose native language is English in English-medium programs do not need to submit any documents, but students whose native language is not English are required to submit a certificate of English proficiency. Some universities require a minimum level of proficiency in one of the internationally recognized language or entrance tests (TOEFL, PTE, SAT, etc.), while other universities administer their own academic English language tests.

Turkish preparation period is generally determined as 1 academic year (2 semesters). During this time, students improve their Turkish language skills and prepare for university education. However, some universities may extend or shorten the preparation time depending on the students' language level.

If you enroll in a program where the language of instruction is Turkish, you are expected to be proficient in Turkish. If the language of instruction is English (except for State universities), you do not have to learn Turkish, but it is highly recommended that you take a Turkish course to get the most out of your social and cultural experience.

Primary and Secondary Education (High School) Equivalence

The education obtained by examining documents such as report cards, transcripts, education certificates, certificates and diplomas received from primary and secondary education institutions abroad is determined by the primary and secondary education in Turkey.
