Toros University, established in 2009 in Mersin, is a Foundation University whose establishment law was published on June 23, 2009. The university was founded by the Mersin Education Foundation. Initially established with 4 faculties, 2 vocational schools, 1 vocational school, and 2 institutes, the university expanded with the addition of the School of Health Sciences on August 10, 2012.
Derived from the established educational tradition of the Mersin Education Foundation and Toros Schools, Toros University conducts its educational and research activities with 3149 students, 151 academic staff, and 139 administrative staff in the 2019-2020 academic year.
The current academic units of the university include the Faculty of Fine Arts, Design, and Architecture, the Faculty of Economics, Administrative, and Social Sciences, the Faculty of Engineering, the Faculty of Health Sciences, Vocational Schools, the School of Foreign Languages, the Graduate School, and various Research Centers.
The educational and administrative units of the university are located in 5 different campuses in the city center. The Bahçelievler, 45 Evler, Uray, 50th Year, and Mezitli Campuses host various faculties and units.
Among the academic programs offered are Architecture, Interior Architecture, Business Administration, Psychology, Electrical-Electronics Engineering, Health Management, Computer Technology, Graphic Design, Physiotherapy, and Rehabilitation, among others, both at undergraduate and associate degree levels. Additionally, various research centers at the university support academic research activities.
