Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, one of the 17 universities established on May 17, 2007, initially under the name Nevşehir University, has become a significant academic center since then. Its name was changed to Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University with the Law No. 6501 published in the official gazette on November 7, 2013.
Operating across a total of 8 different campuses, one of which serves as the main campus, the university conducts its scientific activities through 10 faculties, 9 vocational schools, 1 college, 4 institutes, and 19 research and application centers. Rapidly completing its physical infrastructure, the university provides services to its students and staff with numerous modern facilities covering a total of 208,800 square meters of closed area.
With its extensive academic staff and more than 20,000 students as of 2022, the university is among the leading institutions in Turkey. Recognizing the importance of globalization, it emphasizes collaboration with international universities and staying abreast of global developments. Through programs like Erasmus and the Mevlana Exchange Program, it facilitates student and staff exchanges with universities worldwide.
Moreover, the university is committed to becoming an international institution. In this regard, it has obtained recognition as a university holding the "Certificate of Excellence" and "Diploma Supplement" issued by the European Commission. The number of partner universities under Erasmus agreements has reached 69, and agreements have been made with universities in various countries under the Mevlana Exchange Program.
Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University is not only associated with the history and tourism of Cappadocia but also with its university and students.
