Konya Food and Agriculture University was established in Konya in 2010 under the leadership of the Scientific Research, Technology, Education, and Culture Foundation (BARTEK), founded by Konya Şeker A.Ş., a leading force in Turkish production. The establishment of the university involved taking necessary administrative and financial measures on a project basis and initiating the process. This was further supported by national and international "search conferences" attended by expert academics and high-level executives from Turkey and abroad. The university comprises three faculties, two institutes, and seven application and research centers.
The university accepted its first students in the 2016-2017 academic year. Until the 2023-2024 academic year, student admissions were conducted through joint programs. Starting from the 2023-2024 academic year, the university transitioned to a department-based education model, aiming to follow an educational policy aligned with the Turkish higher education system and to equip students with in-depth knowledge in their chosen fields.
The Faculty of Engineering and Architecture includes departments such as Software Engineering (Turkish), Computer Engineering (English), and Interior Architecture (Turkish). The Faculty of Social and Human Sciences offers programs in Psychology (Turkish), International Trade and Business (English), and Management Information Systems (English).
