"Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University," which sets off with the slogan "Knowledge and Value Generating University," is one of the young educational institutions of our country, established on March 17, 2006, and is a new generation state university.
The name of Rize University was changed to "Recep Tayyip Erdoğan University" by the Law No. 6287, which was published in the Official Gazette dated April 11, 2012, and entered into force, which made amendments to some laws regarding Primary Education and Training.
Today, university consists of Ardeşen Tourism Faculty, Dentistry Faculty, Pharmacy Faculty, Education Faculty, Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Law Faculty, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Theology, Faculty of Engineering and Architecture, Faculty of Health Sciences, Faculty of Sports Sciences, Faculty of Aquatic Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, Turgut Kıran Maritime Faculty, Faculty of Agriculture, Fındıklı Vocational School of Applied Sciences, Güneysu School of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, School of Foreign Languages, School of Justice, Ardeşen Vocational School, Pazar Vocational School, School of Health Services, School of Social Sciences, School of Technical Sciences, and Graduate School.
University currently consists of a total of 49 academic units, including 1 Institute, 15 Faculties, 3 Schools, 6 Vocational Schools, 18 Research and Application Centers, and 6 departments affiliated with the Rectorate. In these academic units, more than 1200 academic staff serve, and over 17,000 students receive education.
