"Pamukkale University, established by Law No. 5467, published in the Official Gazette on March 17, 2006, has its roots in the Kız Öğretmen Okulu (Girls' Teacher School), which commenced its educational activities in Denizli in 1957 and was converted into an Education Institute in 1976. Additionally, the Denizli Engineering Faculty, established as the State Engineering and Architecture Academy in 1976 and later affiliated with Dokuz Eylül University in 1982, contributed to the foundation of Pamukkale University.
Formally established by Law No. 3837, published on July 11, 1992, Pamukkale University saw the establishment of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Faculty of Technical Education, and the transformation of Denizli Medical Faculty and Denizli Engineering Faculty, previously affiliated with Dokuz Eylül University, into Pamukkale University. Furthermore, Denizli School of Education was converted into a faculty and affiliated with Pamukkale University. Newly established institutions like the Faculty of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation, Serinhisar Tobacco Expertise College, and Çivril Vocational School were also added. Additionally, the university incorporates the Social Sciences Institute, the Institute of Natural and Applied Sciences, and the Institute of Health Sciences.
Pamukkale University has continuously developed in terms of physical infrastructure, research activities, and the number and quality of academic and administrative staff. Currently, the university comprises 19 faculties, 17 vocational schools, 6 institutes, 1 college, 45 research centers, and 3 laboratories. There are a total of 124 associate degree programs, 125 undergraduate programs, 111 master's programs, and 54 doctoral programs offered at the university.
