Çankaya University, located in the heart of the capital city, Ankara, began its educational journey on November 5, 1997, under the auspices of the Sıtkı Alp Education Foundation (SAEV). Taking its name from the Çankaya district, which holds significant historical importance in the founding process of the Republic of Turkey, Çankaya University aims to continue being a source of pride for its staff, students, and alumni by contributing to the formation of a common understanding with the rising importance of human rights, ensuring its internationalization, and leading the expansion of science and technology.

The medium of instruction at Çankaya University is 100% English, except for the School of Justice, the Faculty of Law, and the Department of Public Relations and Advertising, which offer Turkish-language education. Students who do not have sufficient proficiency in a foreign language undergo English Preparatory Education for one academic year. The university comprises 5 faculties with 21 departments, 26 master's and 9 doctoral programs, 2 institutes, 2 vocational schools offering 4 programs, and a Foreign Languages Department supporting English education.

An academic year at Çankaya University consists of two semesters: fall (first semester) and spring (second semester), with the possibility of a summer school. The Faculty of Law follows an annual system in its undergraduate program. In this system, there is no distinction between the first and second semesters. Students in this program take midterm exams at the end of the first half of the year and final exams at the end of the second half. Supplementary exams are held for students who fail to achieve a passing grade in the regular exams.
